The Technology

This method employs compressed air  is mixed with CO ² pellets and directed at almost the speed of sound on to the surface to be treated.
The impact caused by the sublimation of the CO ²-induced "thermal shock " causes local produced cracks in the coating, which allow the penetration by subsequent pellets, and the removal of these.
The advantages of this technology are the lack of abrasive material residues and the relatively gentle procedure.
As used here, the CO ² pellets are an industrial waste product from petrochemical processes and sweet gas production. By the use of dry ice blasting, no additional CO² ist set free.
